Certified Nurses Aide

Do you want a health care career that’s always in high demand? Our Certified Nurse Aide/Assistant (CNA) program will give you the skills you need to make a difference in people’s lives.

A critical nursing shortage ensures immediate work for new graduates who have the skills and professionalism to take on this challenging but rewarding career. A CNA provides basic patient care and generally receives on the job training under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the following settings:

  • Clinics
  • Hospitals
  • Nursing homes
  • Long-term care facilities

You will learn principles of infection control, communication techniques and the skills to safely care for people. This program follows the standards and curriculum provided by the Texas Department of Aging and Accessibility Services and prepares a student for and includes the TDADS Nurse Aide State Exam.
