Recruiting and Outreach

The Outreach departments at each college and the District Outreach team are committed to actively engaging the community and raising awareness about the importance of education among all populations.

Professional staff members participate in events and activities that improve college access rates by connecting prospective students to the colleges of DCCCD for the higher education and technical training they need to succeed.

Services may include:

  • Presentations to elementary, middle and high school students and parents
  • Participation in college fairs and career days
  • Representation at community and cultural events
  • Partnerships with business entities, faith-based groups and non-profit organizations

What Do We Do?

We get students DCCCDReady for a successful transition to DCCCD, by meeting them "where they are" and providing information, active guidance and support. Through text, email, phone, online chat, even in-person meetings, we provide extensive customer service, and guide students through next steps so that they're DCCCDReady for college!

Through our Outreach Services, we work closely with area schools and community groups to provide information about DCCCD programs and services to students and parents. We believe it is never too early to start thinking about college, and we value the opportunity to share information about accessing higher education with students of any age.

Our student Street Team is formed by student leaders from across DCCCD who help us reach out and connect with prospective students in the community. They're passionate about the power of education!
