DCCCD Votes: Special Events

The colleges of DCCCD are excited to present a series of special events to get you involved in early voting ahead of Election Day on Nov. 6! 

Brookhaven College

  • Prep for the Polls on Oct. 25, noon-2 p.m.

Cedar Valley College

  • Dance for Democracy on Nov. 1, noon-2 p.m.
    • Join the DCCCD Street Team outside the "A" building for dancing and giveaways. This pop-up event will get you steppin' in the right direction — straight to the polls!

Eastfield College

  • Eastfield will host a series of events from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in "The Hive" (main campus, "C" building). Representatives from the Student Voter Initiative will be on hand to answer questions about what's on the Nov. 6 ballot, what IDs are necessary for voting and even where to find information about the candidates.
    • Oct. 29: Photo booth, games, snow cones and a Q&A with voter registrars. 
    • Oct. 30: Human foosball inflatable game and "I vote because ..." activity. 
    • Oct. 31: Uncle Sam on campus and prize giveaways. 

El Centro College

  • Walk to the Polls from Oct. 20 to Nov. 1, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day.
    • Join SGA in the Student Center to learn more about issues and candidates prior to casting your vote.
  • Doors to Democracy on Nov. 1, noon-2 p.m.
    • Join the DCCCD Street Team for goodies and giveaways as you make your way to the voting booth.

Mountain View College

  • Unleash Democracy on Oct. 30, noon-2 p.m., in the courtyard between the "S" and "W" buildings.
    • Local celebrity dog Ava, "the Tapping Pei," will be on campus to wag the vote (and maybe even to congratulate early voters).

North Lake College

  • Early Voting Snacks and Speaker on Oct. 29.
  • Election Night Watch Party on Nov. 6 in room 200 of the "H" building.

Richland College

  • Parade to the Polls Party on Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    • Join us for early voting and the chance to walk in a "parade" of students on your way to the polls. After you cast your vote, head to the Student Lounge for a party featuring cake, hot cocoa, music and games. Show your "I voted" sticker to receive one of 16 custom-made buttons provided by the Office of Student Life.
