Notice of Tax Revenue Increase

The Dallas County Community College District conducted public hearings on August 21, 2018 and August 28, 2018 on a proposal to increase the total tax revenues of the Dallas County Community College District from properties on the tax roll in the preceding year by 6.52 percent. 

The total tax revenue raised last year at last year’s tax rate of $0.124238 for each $100 of taxable value was $288,067,402.

The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of $0.124000 for each $100 of taxable value, excluding tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, is $305,028,456.

The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of $0.124000 for each $100 of taxable value, including tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, is $312,479,449.

The Board of Trustees of Dallas County Community College District is scheduled to vote on the tax rate that will result in that tax increase at a public meeting to be held on September 4, 2018 at the District Offices, Lower Level Room 007, 1601 S. Lamar Street, Dallas, Texas 75215 at 4:00 p.m.

The Dallas County Community College District proposes to use the increase in total tax revenue for the purpose of the increased number of students in our tuition-free Dual Credit and tuition-free Early College High School programs; and for salary increases for faculty and staff.
