The dual credit and early college high school program is designed for those exceptional high school juniors and seniors who have the ability, motivation and maturity to begin their college educations before high school graduation. Every student admitted to the dual credit and early college high school  program must meet the following admission standards:

  1. be a high school student
  2. carry a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above (on an unweighted 4.0 scale)
  3. completion of the high school student online application and the dual credit application packet
  4. submission of an official high school transcript 

Students register for courses at their high schools between April and early August for the fall semester, and between November and early January for the spring semester. For information about registration, see the dual credit and early college high school calendar of events.

Students can only register when registration is open. If you miss the deadline to register, you cannot register for courses that semester. It is your high school's responsibility to communicate deadlines to students. It is the student's responsibility to meet the deadlines. There are no exceptions. To transfer Dallas College's dual credit and early college high school credit, students should request that a transcript be sent from the registrar's office to the recipient university. Dallas College does not issue paper grade reports to students. The registrar's office issues grades electronically to students through eConnect after the close of the semester. Students should review the Check My Grades (GPA) section of the website for information regarding how to access their account and other essential functions they are responsible for.

No, the dual credit and early college high school program is not affiliated with the Advanced Placement Program; however, some schools do offer both programs for honors-level courses.
