When is Be the Change?

Be the Change will be held Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m.

What will I get out of this?

Free snacks and water, free T-shirts while supplies last, lots of fun, Service Learning credits and the chance to feel good about doing something positive for our community. Check with your college Service Learning coordinator.

Who can participate in Be the Change?

Any enrolled student of a DCCCD college, DCCCD employee or community member can participate as long as you register.

Can DCCCD employees participate in Be the Change?

Yes! DCCCD employees can participate. 

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Yes. You don’t want to bring anything big or heavy that you’ll have to keep track of (like a purse or backpack), but you might want water, a reusable water bottle, a hat, sunscreen, a light backpack and gloves. You will be working outside, so dress appropriately. No high-heeled shoes or short shorts, please. You’ll also need to fill out two forms to attend the event. (The forms will be emailed to you after you register.)

What happens in the event of bad weather?

We will notify you if there are any cancellations.

Does Be the Change count for Service Learning credit?

Yes. If you’re a Service Learning student you can receive credit, but you must contact your campus’ Service Learning coordinator to find out more.

Do I have to be a Service Learning student to participate in Be the Change?

Anyone can sign up to volunteer! If you’re a Service Learning student you can receive credit, but you must contact your campus Service Learning coordinator before you register.
