El Centro’s Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) program — it’s a challenging, multifaceted course of study designed to produce well-trained, highly qualified medical professionals.
MRI technologists perform examinations using magnetism and radio frequency energy to visualize a wide variety of internal structures, such as the brain, spine, abdominal organs and the heart. MRI may also be used to visualize joints such as the knee and shoulder and to image the body’s vascular system.
As a technologist, you will be challenged to apply fundamental principles of MRI to medicine. A successful technologist is proficient in MR physics and instrumentation, imaging and procedures, anatomy and physiology, common pathology and clinical applications.
