A diagnostic medical sonographer uses high-frequency sound waves to visualize soft tissue structures of internal organs as requested by physicians to diagnose patients. Successful students are those who are independent thinkers and who like to solve puzzles.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, health-related occupations will add the most new jobs to the economy – nearly one-third of the total increase – through 2022.
