Why Is This a Good Career Bet? 

Workforce Solutions of Greater Dallas’ targeted occupations lists graphic designer as a local high growth area this year, projecting 3,370 job openings with an average wage of $24.29 per hour. 

America’s Career Infonet projects job growth increase of 18 percent for graphic designers, 18 percent for multimedia artists and animators and 26 percent for Web developers over the next decade. High job growth is defined as an annual increase of more than 10 percent. 

For jobs requiring at least an associate degree, Web developer is ranked 13th among America’s Career Infonet’s 39fastest-growing occupations and seventh of its top 36 careers with the most job openings through 2022. U.S. News and World Report’s Money Careers lists Web developer in fourth place of its top 11 “best technology jobs” through the next decade.
