Vice Chancellor for Workforce and Economic Development


​The Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) invites nominations and applications for the Vice Chancellor for Workforce and Economic Development.

Reporting to the Chancellor, Dr. Joe May, the Vice Chancellor for Workforce and Economic Development provides leadership to the Dallas County Community College District to help meet the workforce and economic development needs in Dallas County. The Vice Chancellor is the central point of contact for any private or public entity seeking information, resources and solutions for workforce training, job development and creation or business expansion.

The Vice Chancellor will be responsible for providing leadership to coordinate and develop programs and to implement partnerships that lead to high-wage job growth while expanding Dallas County’s business base and enhancing the Dallas economy. They will provide leadership, support and services to DCCCD’s colleges, as well as to state and local community and economic development leaders, in workforce development initiatives to attract new and expand current business and industry.

For this position, a Master’s degree or higher is required, as well as five years of experience in a highly responsible position in a higher education environment or workforce/economic development environment, including supervision in an organization of similar size and complexity as DCCCD. Other critical skills and experiences include advanced knowledge of computer technology to access information, maintain records, generate reports and communicate effectively. They will have exceptional oral and written communication skills; the ability to represent the college community and interact effectively with individuals, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds; and strong knowledge and experience providing effective customer service.
