Vice Chancellor for Educational Policy


The Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) invites nominations and applications for the Vice Chancellor for Educational Policy.

As the chief academic officer for the District, the Vice Chancellor for Educational Policy oversees the development and implementation of all academic and student affairs policies and strategic initiatives within DCCCD, including those related to student success, academic quality, and expanding access to non-consumers of higher education.

The Vice Chancellor for Educational Policy reports directly to the Chancellor, Dr. Joe May and will work closely with other leaders in the District to develop policies aimed at increasing student access, student success, transfer opportunities and objectives in alignment with the priorities of the DCCCD Board of Trustees as outlined in the system-wide strategic plan.

For this position, a Master’s degree is required, with an earned doctorate preferred. Official transcripts will be required. The successful candidate will possess five years of experience, including at least three years of upper level administrative leadership in a community college, higher education institution, and/or related environment. He or she will have demonstrated experience in teaching and/or student services in an academic environment, and demonstrated ability to develop and/or strengthen innovative instructional and/or student programs/services.

Other critical skills and experience sought for this role includes demonstrated abilities as a team player and team builder; a commitment to the values of promoting and enhancing diversity; ability to deliver professional presentations using state-of-the art technology; excellent oral and written communication skills to meet the needs of a diverse population, internal and external to the system; and, the ability to provide quality customer service.
