Student Life Council


The Office of Student Life Council (Student Life Council):

  • Promotes professional development among student affairs staff
  • Identifies and solves process issues involving implementation of federal, state and district mandates that affect Student Life
  • Increases communication and collaboration for program ideas
  • Helps create new policies for Board consideration that provide for the ongoing access, support, retention and general welfare of  students
  • Sponsors collaborative co-curricular activities such as leadership conferences, student development workshops and civic engagement activities such as service learning and community service opportunities
  • Collaborates on a recognition and celebratory program that recognizes outstanding student leaders on each campus

The council is composed of representatives from each of the seven DCCCD colleges. Meeting locations rotate between campuses on a schedule determined by the group.

The functional council is sponsored by the Vice Presidents Council.
