Business Office Council

The Business Office Council’s task is to ensure that DCCCD funds are handled in a fiscally responsible manner at each location by developing, communicating and enforcing business policies, implementing internal controls, developing business processes and procedures and communicating the policies. The council comprises representatives from each of the seven Dallas County Community College District colleges, the LeCroy Center and the District Service Center. Its purpose is to: Coordinate the efforts among the colleges’ business offices to provide guidelines at their locations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgeting, procurement, travel, contracts, grants, auxiliary services, training, computer access for financial systems, calendar deadlines, general accounting and financial audits. Coordinate the efforts among the colleges’ business offices to provide student financial services. Design and refine processes for the uniform entry of transactions into the financial system. Serve as an extension of District Financial Services in spearheading special projects. Make recommendations to the Vice Presidents Business Services (VPBS) Council and serve as an advisor group to other councils. The Business Office Council meets on the third Wednesday of each month.  The council is authorized by the VPBS Council under the sponsorship of the executive vice chancellor of business affairs.
