Nursing

Two types of nurses serve the patients in the North Central Texas area: Registered and Licensed Practical Nurses. LPNs care for the ill, injured, convalescent, and handicapped persons in hospitals, clinics, private homes, sanitariums, and similar institutions. Registered nurses do much the same work as well as are responsible for administration, public and private health care, administering medications, and management.

  • Training After High School: 2 – 4 years
  • Need in North Central Texas: for LPNs - 1,900 nurses, for RNs - 5,650 nurses
