El
Centro College
801 Main Street
Dallas, Texas 75202
El Centro College,
bordered by Elm, Main, Lamar and Market streets,
stands at the gateway of downtown Dallas’
West End District. We serve some 10,000 college
credit and continuing education students each
semester.
Opening our doors to students
in the fall of 1966, El Centro was the first
college in the Dallas County Community College
District and has played a vital role in educational
advancement in the Dallas area throughout
its history.
Stretching over two city
blocks, the campus has several buildings including
a turn-of-the-century nine-story building,
a performance hall and a two-story student
and technology center under construction on
the south side of the campus.
DART buses bring students
almost to the door of the campus, and the
DART light rail makes a stop just a block
away. Full-time El Centro students can ride
DART free.
El Centro features up-to-date
facilities housing more than 50 technical
occupation credit programs to prepare students
for the workplace. We also provide two-year
preparation for those students desiring to
transfer to four-year colleges plus a wide
range of non-credit continuing and workforce
education courses. Our college prizes its
diverse enrollment encompassing students of
all ages and all walks of life. |
