JACKIE KENNETT-BEEDE
Jackie Kennett-Beede is a private Business Mentor who provides education and consulting in Business Excellence to organizations throughout the United States. Her work includes self-assessment through the development of Baldrige-based assessments, gap analysis, training and business improvement activities in each of the seven categories of the Baldrige criteria through process improvement and benchmarking. Jackie has experience in applying quality principles within small and large manufacturing, computer software, education, semiconductor, healthcare, construction, and banking/financial services industries. She is also a frequent speaker at professional conferences and meetings. Among her clients are three Texas Quality Award winners and two Baldrige Award winner.

Jackie has served for five years as a Baldrige Examiner and is currently in her sixth year with the Texas Quality Award program. She has served on two commissions associated with the use of the Baldrige criteria in the Service Industry and in the Computer Software Industry. In 1996 and 1997 she also worked on the Baldrige case study writing team (S3 and Gateway) and provided input to the Baldrige Criteria team. Jackie has served as a Baldrige feedback writer, Baldrige feedback editor, TQA Senior Examiner and is currently a member of the Texas Quality Award Board of Overseers, the Panel of Judges, and the examiner training team.

Jackie started in Total Quality Management in 1989 at US Sprint where she worked as a Quality Facilitator for the internal software development organization. Jackie then worked for Texas Instruments from 1992 until July of 1997 as a Total Quality Manager for the internal Information Systems division and then as the Director of Total Quality for the external Software division. While at TI, Jackie was very involved in the development; deployment, training and management of the company-wide Baldrige-like appraisal process called "TI-BEST".

For the last several years, Jackie has devoted a lot of her "spare" time to working with a few companies to help them understand and use the Baldrige/TQA criteria. In July of 1997, Jackie began working independently with select companies to help them apply the Baldrige Criteria and best practices to their business. Through these efforts and her work with the Baldrige and TQA, Jackie has had the opportunity to read, evaluate, write, and/or write feedback for over 40 applications. Jackie has assisted with three companies in winning the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, and three companies in winning the Texas Quality award.

Jackie received her Bachelors degree from the University of North Texas in Computer Science and Management and has Masters level courses there. Jackie is a member of the American Society for Quality, the International Women in Business Association, and the scholastic achievement Beta Gamma Sigma Society. Jackie has one child, Raymond Gene Kennett, Jr., who was born during the 1996 Texas Quality Award and Malcolm Baldrige cycles - the youngest experienced examiner!
