Quest For Quality Project Assignments Overview
You have two potential assignments to complete after you have attended the Quest For
Quality 2000 2-day orientation workshop:
ASSIGNMENT A complete a two-page summary of activities
that you conducted on your campus to make more people aware of the Texas Award criteria;
this is to be completed after the 2-day orientation workshop
ASSIGNMENT B - Complete a Level I or II Texas Award application OR an internal
self-assessment. The Level I is a 10-page application that can be completed and submitted
at any time through the year; Level II applications must be submitted by December 1, 2000
OR February 15, 2001 (choose one or the other). If you choose not to submit an application
for external feedback, you can complete an internal self-assessment at any time and submit
to the Quest For Quality facilitators for informal feedback before July 15, 2000.
Guidelines For Assistance With Assignment B
- Texas Quality Award can provide you with electronic files to assist you with your
self-assessment process. They have 3-levels of self-assessment guidelines (not to be
confused with the 3-levels of Application!)
- Organizations wishing assistance from Quest For Quality 2000 facilitators in developing
their self-assessment or Texas Award Application, should contact the QFQ Coordinator, Bob
Arnold, to make this request. You can receive up to two-days of free consultation as part
of your participation with the Quest For Quality 2000 program. Consultations must be
completed by August, 2000; however, we are in the process of requesting a third-year grant
from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to provide additional consulting
services during the next academic year 2000-2001.
- This project encourages participating institutions to move towards a quality-concept
focus by participating in the Texas Award program by electing to submit a self-assessment
(either Level I or II) for external feedback by trained Texas Award examiners. Please see
the guidelines for submission and fee structure in the Texas Award Manual on pages
106-113.
- Criteria for Level I Applications (10- pages) can be found on page 99 of the Texas Award
Manual; Criteria for Level II Applications (25-pages) can be found on page 85 of the Texas
Award Manual.
On behalf or your project team, we wish you an informative and exciting learning
experience!
