Comparison of Late Registrants with Non-Late Registrants
In general, completion rates are notably higher for students who did not register late than for those who did. This is true for the entire student population, as well as those students taking developmental courses. Additionally, grade point averages are substantially higher for students who register in a timely fashion than for those who registered late.
Similarities Between the Groups:
- Students enrolled in developmental courses are far more likely to withdraw from all courses than students not enrolled in developmental courses.
- In general, students enrolled in developmental courses are equally likely to withdraw from all courses, regardless of whether or not they registered late.
- Withdrawal rates vary inversely with courseloads.
- Grade performance varies directly with courseloads.
- Grade point averages are higher for developmental study, than for non-developmental study.
Differences Between the Groups:
- Students who registered late have a substantially higher withdrawal rate (20.4%) than those who did not register late (12.3%).
- Students who registered late have a lower grade point average than whose who did not register late.
