Observations
-
The number of females (1,620) enrolled in telecourses is significantly
larger than the number of males (689), 70% compared to 30%. Percent of
headcount for females enrolled in online courses (59%) is similar to the
percent of headcount for female credit students enrolled on-campus (58%)
for Spring 1999.
-
Fifty-three percent (53%) of the total credit students on-campus are Anglo,
while a larger proportion is enrolled in distance learning courses - (65%)
online and (63%) telecourse.
-
Similar enrollment occurred when African Americans enrolled in telecourses
(22%) and on-campus courses (21%). However, fewer African Americans enrolled
in online courses (14%).
-
Hispanics represent over 16% of the total headcount on-campus, however,
fewer Hispanics enrolled in distance learning courses (10% online, 10%
telecourse) than on-campus courses.
-
The percent of headcount for Asians enrolled in on-campus courses (9%)
is proportionally larger, when compared to the percent of headcount enrolled
in distance learning courses (6% online, 4% telecourse).
-
The proportion of American Indian and Foreign students does not differ
when distance learning headcount is compared to on-campus headcount.
Note: Online Courses include sections 426 and 427. Telecourses
include sections 430-471.
