Spring 2000 Distance Learning Credit Student Profile
Students enrolled in DCCCD Distance Learning credit courses during Spring
2000 are profiled in the table below. Several types of courses are offered.
Online courses provide access to college courses via the Internet using
a computer. A Telecourse is an integrated learning system that uses telecommunications
to instruct and inform students via television and VCR, while Telecourse
Plus includes online activities, which requires access to the Internet.
Students enrolled in Live TV, view classes at stated times on local cable
TV. Students that register online for distance learning courses are assigned
TeleCollege section numbers.
Enrollment data are duplicated. A student enrolled in more than one
distance learning course is counted for each course. Data used in headcount
are unduplicated.

– (60%) Online, (58%) Telecourse/Telecourse Plus/Live TV and (77%) TeleCollege.
-
Percent of headcount for African American students enrolled in Online courses
(216) increased slightly to (18%) when compared to the Spring 1999 Online
