- ESL courses are designed to address a wide range of student language skill levels and are taught in a variety of formats which include fast track, weekend and evening courses.
- Continuing education ESL accounts for 80% of ESL students and 2/3 of ESL enrollments.
- CE ESL students are most likely Hispanic (73%), 14% are Asian.
- Of Fall 1999 CE ESL students, 2/3 are continuing or returning DCCCD students.
- The credit ESL student body is more diverse – 33% Asian, 28% Hispanic and 20% international.
- Almost half of fall 1999 credit ESL students have previously enrolled in continuing education.
- Most (92%) fall credit ESL students are continuing or returning students.
