1999-2000 Continuing Education


Goal 2:  Continuing Education
DCCCD students will obtain quality continuing education to enrich their lives 
personally, socially, and culturally and to upgrade occupational and job skills.

Coordinating Board reimbursed continuing education courses related to career development and job skills are referred to in this report as workforce training. Non-reimbursed courses such as creative/performing arts, leisure, and youth programs are noted as personal interest.

District-wide Indicators:
     -- workforce training and personal interest contact hour trends
     -- percent of continuing education students who are repeat customers
 
Continuing Education Contact Hours
Continuing Education contact hours, 1994 to 1999
Contact hours for personal interest 
courses remained almost flat while 
workforce training hours increased 
55% from 1994-95 to 1998-99.

Approximately 40% of fall 1999 
continuing education students were 
enrolled in continuing education 
courses in the prior three years.
 

All locations experienced growth in continuing education contact hours compared to five years ago. Contact hours at six of eight locations increased in the last year.
