The Franklin
E. Spafford Academic Scholarship was established to honor the late Mr.
Spafford, who served as one of the first members of the DCCCD Board of
Trustees.

Criteria |
Applicants
must be outstanding scholars as evidenced by a 3.0 GPA or better.
(This award is not given on a basis of financial need.)

Applicants
must submit the following to the financial Aid office at the college
they wish to attend.:

Process |
Phase
I - Financial Aid Director at each college submits applications
of top five candidates to the Foundation Office.
Phase
II - Foundation Scholarship Committee determines final winners.

| Recipient
Requirements |
If
selected, recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA. Failure to do so could
result in a reduction or loss of scholarship benefits.

| Deadline |
For
application: Second week of April to Financial Aid Office.
Finalist applications to Foundation: Second week of May.
Notification to students: Third week of July.
