The Dr.
James Michael Pitt Memorial Scholarship was established to provide scholarships
for students attending Eastfield College and majoring in mathematics,
science, or computer science.

Criteria
Applicants
must successfully complete nine credit hours per semester while maintaining
a 3.0 GPA. Applicants must also major in mathematics, science, or
computer science.
Application
Process
Applicants
must submit the following to Eastfield College's Financial Aid Office:
- Completed
DCCCD
Foundation scholarship application form
- One-page
typed essay detailing why he/she deserves this scholarship, including
leadership qualifications and personal goals
- Two
letters of recommendation from high school or college counselors
and teachers.
Selection
Process
- Phase
I - Financial Aid Office forwards applications of
top five candidates to the Foundation Office.
- Phase
II - Foundation Scholarship Committee determines final winners.
Recipient
Requirements
Recipients
must successfully complete nine (9) credit hours per semester and
maintain a 3.0 GPA or better. Recipient should write a letter describing
academic progress to the Pitt family at the completion of the school
year. Failure to meet these requirements could result in a reduction
or loss of scholarship benefits.
Deadline
For
application: Second week of April to the Financial Aid Office.
Finalist applications to Foundation: Second week of May. Notification
to students: Third week in July.
