John Williams and William Dexter Astronomy Scholarship
The Richland Planetarium has had two Planetarium Directors in its history: John Williams and William Dexter. Using funds donated by the public to the Planetarium, this scholarship was established by the Planetarium Volunteers of the Texas Astronomical Society of Dallas to honor the contributions of John Williams and William Dexter to the Richland College Planetarium. Eligibility
Criteria
Applicants
must be students with a sincere interest in science. Students must
have completed a minimum of four credit hours in Astronomy and be
currently taking an additional four hours in Astronomy or must have
completed eight hours of Astronomy. Students must have maintained
a minimum of 3.0 GPA.

Process
Applicants must submit the following to Richland College’s Financial Aid Office:
- Completed DCCC Foundation Scholarship application form.
- One page essay describing why he or she is deserving of this scholarship, including goals, career plans and interest in science.

Recipient Requirements
Recipients must successfully complete 6 credit hours per semester and maintain a 3.0 GPA or better. Failure to meet these requirements could result in a reduction or loss of scholarship benefits.Deadline
