Tech Prep (Technical Preparation) Scholarship

Tech Prep (Technical Preparation) is a program of study that links high school and community college curriculum to give students the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school. A student can earn college credit toward an associate degree at the Dallas County Community College District.

$250 per semester

Varies per available funds

Any DCCCD campus

Eligibility Criteria

  • Earn a grade of "B" or better in all Tech Prep high school courses
  • Graduate from high school
  • Enroll at the DCCCD within 15 months of high school graduation.

Application Process

  • Enroll at the Dallas County Community College and declare a major.
  • Take your high school transcript and "Tech Prep Transfer of Credit Form" to the college registrar and request your Tech Prep Credit.
  • Applicants must submit a completed Foundation scholarship application form

It is essential that you enroll at the DCCCD within 15 months of graduation, or you will lose free college credit(s) from high school.
