DCCCD Rising Star Program

The Dallas County Community College District and its Foundation believe that cost should not stop anyone form getting a college education. The Rising Star Scholarship is currently available to recent graduates of any Dallas County Public High School and/or Dallas CAN.

The scholarship pays up to $4,000 (including tuition, fees and books) towards an associates degree and/or certificate at any of the Dallas County Community Colleges.

To be eligible, student must:

  • Be a graduating senior or have recently graduated from one of the Dallas County Public High Schools and/or Dallas CAN Academy.

  • Graduate in the top 40% of their high school class, OR with a "B" average OR pass the required Dallas County Community College District assessment test to enter any of the DCCCD colleges.
  • Meet eligibility guidelines for financial assistance (see graph)
