Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) PSSA-Professional Support Staff Association Reimbursement Scholarship

The Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) PSSA Reimbursement Scholarship Fund was established to provide financial support for DCCCD Professional Support Staff Association members (Level I and Level II) who are working to complete their degree above an Associate’s degree. Funds are made available on a reimbursement-basis only. The recipient must show official evidence (e.g., grade report) indicating successful completion of a course(s) with a grade of “C” or better by sending evidence to the Foundation Scholarship Fund Assistant in the District Foundation office, 701 Elm Street, Dallas, Texas 75202.

Amount of Award
$250 per semester, maximum of $500 per academic year (Aug. to Aug.)

Number of Awards Per Year
Varies, as per available funds (determined by the PSSA Scholarship Committee)

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants are required to be a full-time or limited full-time professional support staff association member with one year of continuous active employment or part-time professional support staff association members with two years continuous active employment at the time of application

Application Process
Applicant must submit the following:

  • DCCCD PSSA Reimbursement Scholarship Application form
  • DCCCD Foundation application
  • Official degree plan
  • Official college transcripts
  • Two letters of recommendation (It is recommended that at least one recommendation come from a DCCCD employee who is aware of the applicant’s potential for college success. The other recommendation can be a character or community-involvement reference).
  • Typed, one-page essay describing why the employee is deserving of this scholarship, including a clear statement of academic goals and career plans. (The essay must be only one page. The essay must be formatted in 12 point font and double spaced with one-inch margins.)
  • Applications are available from your location PSSA president or the DCCCD Foundation Office, 701 Elm Street, Dallas, Texas.
Applications are available from your location PSSA president. Completed applications should be sent to your location PSSA president and will be forwarded to the DCCCD PSSA Reimbursement Scholarship Committee. Only completed applications will be accepted.

Deadline
The deadline for application is as follows:
  • Fall semester – First week in July
  • Spring semester – Second week in November
  • Summer semester – First week in April

Scholarships are granted for fall, spring, and summer sessions. Applications must be turned in during the semester in which the scholarship is requested.
