Educational Scholarship
The Lowe's
Educational Scholarship Program was founded in 1999 to provide scholarships
and part-time work experiences to selected community college students
enrolled in vocational related trade disciplines. The goal of the program
is to retain these knowledgeable students as full-time Lowe's specialists
after they have received a certificate or associates degree

Eligibility
Criteria
Applicants
must meet the following requirements:
- Must
be at least 18 years old;

Must currently be enrolled in a 6 to 12 hours course program.
(per semester);

Must have intentions to pursue a career in their chosen discipline
within the Vocational Technical Division;

Must demonstrate an aptitude, interest and enthusiasm for a career
in the retail industry;

Must have satisfactorily completed at least one semester with
a Grade Point Average of (2.0) or higher;

Scholarship applicants who are currently employed with
another retailer (Home Depot, Wal-Mart, etc.) are not eligible
for consideration for a Lowe’s Scholarship.
Application
Process
Applicants
must submit the following to the DCCCD Foundation:
- Complete
a Lowe's
Community Scholarship Application (please use black ink to
complete the application and all sections of the application must
be completed)

Complete DCCCD Foundation
Scholarship Application

Applications submitted after the deadline date will not be considered.

All requested information should be submitted to the designated
Financial Aid Office (the DCCCD college you are attending)

The Financial Aid Department will forward the completed application
packet to the appropriate Vocational Division.

Once the Vocational Division selects the applicants for the scholarships,
the applications will be forwarded to the District Foundation
office for processing.
Selection
Process
A
selection committee, comprised of representatives from the Vocational
Technology Division at each community college will evaluate the
applicants based on Lowe’s applicant requirements, academic
achievement, motivation, attendance, leadership qualities, work
habits and the ability to work with others.

Decisions of each selection committee are final.

The Foundation Office will notify recipients of educational scholarships.

Requirements
Recipients
must maintain a 2.0 GPA throughout their college career and successfully
complete a minimum credit hours per semester (credit hours will vary
depending on fill-time/part time attendance). Failure to meet these
requirements could result in a reduction or loss of scholarship benefits.
