Pat
Kennedy Early Care and Education Endowment Scholarship
The purpose
of the Pat Kennedy Early Care and Education Endowment Scholarship is to
provide financial assistance to deserving Eastfield College students majoring
in Child Development or Teacher Education. It is intended for those students
who are unable to access other financial assistance in order to pursue
courses in their associate and/or certificate degree plan. The scholarship
award may be applied toward non-child development/teacher education courses
on the certificate or degree plan if all required child development
or teacher education courses are successfully completed.

of Award
$150
to $400 (depending on available funds and applicant's needs) to be
paid directly to Eastfield College for tuition, fees, and books for
classes leading toward a Child Development/Teacher Prep Degree or
Certificate.

Criteria
Applicants
must have successfully completed at least 12 credit hours in Child
Development or Teacher Education and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Application
must be an Eastfield College student majoring in child development
or Teacher Education with a certificate or degree plan on file.

Applicants
must submit the following:
- completed
DCCCD
Foundation scholarship application form to Financial Aid Office
- documentation
stating that the applicant is not eligible for a CCT scholarship
or financial aid
- transcript
- typed
one to two page essay detailing the applicant's personal goals
as well as philosophy of early childhood education
- one
letter of recommendation.
All criterion
materials must be submitted to representatives of the Eastfield College
Financial Aid Department.
