The Sharon Conine Scholarship Essay Guidlines

All nominees/applicants for the Sharon Conine Scholarship must submit an essay because the Selection Committee is concerned to know you as well as possible. It is very important for your essay to be open and through on the following points because your "story" will be an important consideration in the selection process. In a typed essay of several pages, please tell your story, including details about:

1) Your background, your circumstances, and those of your family in your native country.
2) The reasons why and the conditions under which you left your country to study in America.
3) Your educational and career goals, and how you plan to fulfill them.
4) Any participation of yours in college, community, or religious organizations. Discussion of how you see this involvement as helping you and/or others.
5) How you plan to coordinate and manage your responsibilities (family, education, work, etc.) to ensure that you will meet your goals.
