Baldwin Memorial Horticulture Scholarship
The Homer
Baldwin Memorial Horticulture Scholarship was established by the Greater
North Texas Orchid Society, the American Orchid Society's Dallas Judging
Center, and Jerry & Ronnie Brandenburg to honor a longtime friend
and fellow orchid grower, Homer Baldwin. Mr. Baldwin was a charter member
of the Greater North Texas Orchid Society and American Orchid Society
judge for over 30 years. He helped established the Dallas Judging Center
and was awarded Judge Emeritus status by the American Orchid Society in
1994.

Eligibility
Criteria
Applicants
must be a US citizen, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be a second year student
with a declared major in Horticulture and be enrolled in at least
12 credit hours per semester. Preference will be given to Dallas
County residents.

must submit completed
DCCCD
Foundation scholarship application form with a letter describing
whey he/she is deserving of the Homer Baldwin Memorial Horticultural
Scholarship to Financial Aid Office.
Selection
Process
Recipients
are selected by the Horticultural Department staff of Richland College.

Recipients
of this scholarship must write thank you letters to the Greater
North Texas Orchid Society and the American Orchid Society Dallas
Judging Center c/o Jerry & Ronnie Brandenburg, 11045 Swaffar,
Dallas, TX 75228.
The
recipients of this scholarship are expected to spend at least two
hours each week of each semester working in Richland College's orchid
greenhouse.
