CREDIT HOURS

The financial support that Rising Star provides to students allows them to take a few more credit hours of classes each semester and thus accelerates the time they take to reach their education goals. Approximately 47 percent of Rising Star students attends college full-time (defined as 12 or more credit hours). This is above the norm when compared to state and national averages: Only 33 percent of Texas community college students attend full-time*; nationally, 40 percent of community college students are enrolled full-time.**
