2009 State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) Begins
 |
Change Lives. Shape the Future. |
Thank you for visiting the Dallas County Community College District Foundation’s State Employee Charitable Campaign Web site. We value your interest and investment in making a difference to students and employees throughout the college district.
Once again, the DCCCD Foundation is proud to be among the participating charities of the 2009 SECC.
Did you know that in last year’s campaign, DCCCD employees raised almost a half-million dollars to charitable organizations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and throughout the state? One third of the total amount was donated to the Foundation to support student scholarships at DCCCD. We anticipate the District will surpass all its goals again this year and will be among the leading giving agencies in the state.
Any amount you give to the DCCCD Foundation through SECC will help us make a huge impact to students and employees. The DCCCD Foundation offers more than 300 different types of student scholarships and awards, including the internationally recognized Rising Star Program.
This Web site allows you to look at the types of funds where you may designate your gift and provides step-by-step instructions to completing your SECC contribution form.
Beginning this year, contributions may be designated to the Employee Development Fund (EDF), which supports DCCCD employees who are in need of funding for professional development opportunities. When making a contribution to EDF, please be sure to indicate “EDF” on the form and which DCCCD college your gift will support.
The
following items will help guide you through the donation process*:
*Please
be advised of the processing time for your SECC donation through United Way. United Way processes SECC donations on a quarterly basis starting the following year of the campaign. It takes approximately 18 months from the end of the campaign for the full amount of your donation to make it to your charity of choice.
YOU make the difference in our student’s
lives through your work and your generosity. We truly appreciate all that
you have done.
Below are
the steps to filling out your SECC Campaign donation form correctly. The
information you fill out is used by the DCCCD Foundation office for tracking
employee donations to the SECC Campaign. Please fill in all the highlighted
areas on the sample form. (By leaving out required information you may
run the risk of your gift not being included in the campaign totals.)
1)
Name and Address Information - Fill out all of the items below:
- Name
- Address
- Campus
- Department Information
*Include full name, maiden name and preferred address where you want to

Gift Designation for specific scholarship or fund – The SECC

a scholarship or fund with the Foundation. We ask that you write across
the top of the form the name of the scholarship or fund designating where
you would like your donation to be deposited.
A list of all
Foundation scholarships can be found here: DCCCD Scholarship and Fund List
Please choose a scholarship or fund
from the list provided. Many of you have realized SECC is a great way
to build your legacy by establishing a scholarship. If you are interested
in setting up a new scholarship fund, please contact us for more information. All scholarships MUST be set up before contributions can be applied to
the fund.
Any forms without a designation will be applied
to the Rising Star Endowment Program.
4)
Payment Options – Check the correct payment option.
- If you choose “Payroll Deduction”, then mark the correct pay period that coincides with
your gift.
- If you choose “One-Time Gift”, then circle the correct payment
type of cash or check.
- Also please include your Social Security number or
Colleague ID and sign the form. (This is to verify the correct individual
receives credit for their donation.)
- Make checks payable to the State
Employee Charitable Campaign.
The DCCCD
Foundation has put together some easy to follow steps for each Campus
Campaign Coordinator to help in distributing and collecting campaign information
to turn into the Foundation.
It is very important that these steps are
followed so the campaign deadlines are met and the totals are accurate.
(By leaving out required information you may run the risk of your gifts
not being included in the campaign totals.)
If you have any questions
