With more than 30 years of experience in public and private fund raising, Mary has served in a variety of roles, including president, with the Council for Resource Development. She also served at the national and international levels with the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Certified Fund Raising Executive Program Board and is a former board chair of CFRE International.

Prior to joining the Foundation and Development Office, Mary served as vice president for resource and economic development at Brookhaven College. She has been responsible for over $100 million in successful proposals including 14 recent Texas Skills Development Fund proposals with major local companies. Among the proposals are the $3.5 million gift from the Ellison Miles Foundation to build the Geotechnology Institute—one of the largest cash gifts ever received by a community college in the nation—and the new $3.4 million Head Start Center on the Brookhaven campus.  The center serves as a child development lab school and provides child care for low-income parents.

Mary, a Fulbright Scholar, has received distinguished service awards from the Council for Resource Development, the Community College Humanities Association, and the Texas Association of Schools of Art. She was named the 2002 Fundraising Executive of the Year by the Dallas Chapter of AFP.  She holds awards for film and television work and has authored publications and presentations in resource development, curriculum design, and conference management including articles in the AACC Journal and the Journal of Community College Research and Practice.

Mary’s current board appointments include The Dallas Regional Chamber Task Force on Workforce and Education, the Dallas Regional Chamber Advisory Committee for Talent, Workforce and Education, the Texas Community College Teachers Association Foundation Board,  the Dallas Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals as the immediate past president, the Professional Advancement Division Advisory Board for AFP International, and as a trustee of the Council for Resource Development.  She also is a graduate of the League for Innovation in Community College’s Executive Leadership Institute.

Mary earned degrees from the University of North Texas and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in art, art history and art education.
