Purpose

Definitions

Eligibility

Full-time professional support staff may not request leave until after 90 days of employment.

Full-time administrators may request leave as accrued. 

Faculty are not eligible for vacation.

Procedures

Employee Responsibility

All vacation leave requires approval by the employee's supervisor and shall be scheduled for the convenience of the operating unit of employment.  The employee must complete an Application for Leave and request approval before the leave is taken.

Accrual

Professional Support Staff Accrual Rate
0-60 months 1 day (8.0 hours*)
61-120 months 1.25 days (10.0 hours*)
121-180 months 1.5 days (12.0 hours*)
181-239 months 1.75 days (14.0 hours*)
After 240 months 2 days (16 hours*)
Maximum 48 days per year can be carried into the next fiscal year. (this change is effective 09/01/92)

*Based on a 40 hour work week.

Administrators Accrual Rate
Date of hire Full-time administrators on 12-month contracts are eligible for 24 working days of vacation per fiscal year (2 days per month). 
Maximum 48 days per year can be carried into the next fiscal year.
