Procurement Strategies Committee

Overview | Meetings | Members

The Procurement Strategies Committee has discussed the benefits of a common database/website for procurement information. The DCCCD has volunteered to set up a basic website for the Alliance that will include links to the various agencies and information on DABD activities and goals.

The Committee has developed specific action steps to accomplish:

  • Develop and implement a "universal" vendor registration form to provide a web-based registration process and allow one-stop for vendors to register with all Alliance agencies.
  • Develop and implement a "universal" web-based notification process for bids and proposals.
  • Develop and implement a plan for uniform M/WBE reporting i.e. identify how each agency calculates M/WBE participation and formulate a cohesive reporting method.
  • For the next CEO Roundtable, the committee will have a proposed inter-local agreement to allow each agency to "piggy back" on price agreements entered into by other public agencies.

The committee has also discussed a "Dallas Area Procurement Day" to provide training and networking opportunities for agency buyers. This training will allow for cross-training opportunities to ensure procurement specialists are aware of the practices of other organizations.

The Procurement Strategies Committee will partner with the Workforce Diversity Committee to find commonalities in health benefit coverage and overcome obstacles to a pooled health coverage system.
