Rapidly changing laws have created a huge need for highly trained workers who can keep up with environmental regulations and specialized handling — and in Texas, there’s always a need for technicians who can keep the air conditioners running!

Whether you’re considering HVACR as a new career, are already working in the industry but need the “paper,” or are just an interested layperson wanting some technical knowledge, there’s a place in our program for you!

Each associate degree may be completed in two years if you are a full-time student but may take longer if you are also working.

You can also prepare for and take the certification exam for the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician’s EPA license (regulated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) at both Cedar Valley and Eastfield colleges. 

Preparation for the state of Texas’s license for heating and air conditioning contractors is also periodically offered.
