Content Delivered to You

Do you want to get DCCCD website content delivered directly to you — for free? Just subscribe to one of our RSS feeds, and you can be notified every time we publish new DCCCD job openings, events or news stories. You will be shown the title of the posting as well as a short description of that posting.

What Is RSS?

RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication” or “Rich Site Summary” and is a way to get content from many different websites all in one place, not unlike an e-mail inbox.

RSS easily distributes news feeds of new Web content that include links, headlines, photos, videos and text summaries. Most major news outlets, including The New York Times, CNN and CNET News, and many smaller websites and blogs, now deliver updated online content via RSS. Read more about RSS feeds or watch a video, RSS in Plain English by Common Craft.

How Do I Subscribe?

You first need to identify which feed reader (also called an aggregator or RSS reader) you want to use. Your favorite Web browser may feature a feed reader. Many people use the feed readers in their favorite Web-based e-mail program, which have the advantage of being more “portable.”

Yahoo! Mail has a feed reader built in, and Gmail has a connected service called Google Reader. If you have an account with either of these services or one of the many other Web-based e-mail services already, you can easily begin subscribing to RSS feeds. If you do not have an account with any of these services, you can sign up for one and begin using it in a matter of minutes.

When you’ve chosen which feed reader you want to use, you can begin signing up for feeds by going to the websites you want to get information from and finding the RSS feeds.
