Find Out Who Made All-Conference in Basketball
Congratulations to Andrew Maxie of Eastfield College. He was named the most valuable men’s basketball player in the Metro Athletic Conference. The MAC is made up of the colleges of DCCCD. The conference handed out other honors to men’s basketball players. Those honors include All-Conference Team designation, most-improved player, newcomer of the year and more. Three From Brookhaven Rank High in All-State Band
Three Brookhaven music students achieved high rankings in the Texas Community College Band Directors Association All-State Symphonic Band. Based on taped and live auditions, Eduardo Garcia was chosen as second chair alto saxophonist, John Justus was selected as seventh chair clarinetist and Martha Zamora was selected as 12th chair flutist.
El Centro Student’s Work Entered in National Art Competition
El Centro College student Roy Martinez has advanced to the League for Innovation in the Community College National Student Art Competition and Exhibit. He is one of five students who will represent the DCCCD at the national competition. His work is a jewelry piece; the media for his artwork, Laz Florez, are digital print and sterling silver.
