Get the latest version of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and more – for free. Students of the colleges of DCCCD can take advantage of the Microsoft Student Advantage program. That program lets you download Microsoft Pro Plus 2013 (or 2011 on the Mac) on your home computer and on up to five mobile devices.
So, if you don’t have access to Word, Excel and PowerPoint except on a college computer, you’ll now be able to use those applications on your home computer, smartphones and tablet computers.
There is no cost. DCCCD has bought a license from Microsoft to use its products. Because we pay for the license, you pay nothing.
Who can install and use the Student Advantage Office products?
All currently enrolled students of the colleges of DCCCD.
You can install up to five copies of Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus or Office for Mac Professional 2011 software on a home computer and up to five mobile Office copies. The mobile version runs on many Android devices plus iPads and iPhones. The mobile versions are not full-featured. However, they should let you do almost anything you need to do.
Not forever. You will be able to use the programs for up to a year after you leave DCCCD. If you are no longer enrolled, we delete your account one year after you leave. So, after that time, the Office files you created under the account will become read-only, and you will not be able to edit the files. You can buy Microsoft Office for home use.
It’s easy. But there’s one catch: To install the free Microsoft Office suite, you have to change your password in eConnect.
Why? The reason is technical. It has to do with how Microsoft and eConnect work together. Changing your eConnect password was the easiest way we could come up with to allow you to take advantage of the Student Advantage program.
