Seven Eastfield College students and an El Centro College student will get a chance to see what it feels like to “fly.” They’ll be experiencing weightlessness when they take a ride on NASA's zero gravity plane.
The students are participating in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Reduced Gravity Education Flight Program at the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in Houston. The team (named El Harve-Stars) will conduct an experiment on the crystallization of sodium acetate in a microgravity environment. Electrical engineering major Eduardo Aguirre leads the team. Others are Eastfield College students Salvador de Leon, Clara Oliva, Samuel Rodriguez, Stephen Todd Stovall, Jasmine Chavez, Valeria Lujan and Eric Edwards, and El Centro College student Maureen Tucker.
