North Lake SGA Climbs High to Raise Money

Members of the North Lake College Student Government Association (SGA) climbed 52 flights of stairs to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Fifteen members of the SGA Blazers team participated in the Big D Climb at Fountain Place in downtown Dallas. The event Jan. 25 helped raise awareness of the blood cancers. The North Lake College students raised more than $500 by their participation in the event.

Honor Society at North Lake Completes Financial Literacy Video
The North Lake College Alpha Zeta Eta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society recently completed a financial literacy video. The video is designed to help students better understand the consequences of their financial decisions. The video was used during North Lake College’s student orientation. University of Phoenix Offers Scholarships to May Grads
Are you considering pursuing a bachelor’s degree at the University of Phoenix once you graduate from one of the colleges of DCCCD? If so, apply for Phoenix’s Community College Pathfinders Scholarship. Five full-tuition scholarships are being offered. The deadline to apply is May 13 – students planning to graduate in May are eligible to apply providing they graduate before July 8, 2014.
