Serials Solutions is a new service that makes e-journals and databases more accessible than ever before. If a periodical is available anywhere in the DCCCD libraries, regardless of format (electronic, paper copy, microform, etc.), you can locate all the relevant details within seconds.
To Determine Whether a Particular Periodical is Available:
- Go to Serials Solutions or TDNet (TexShare periodicals only).
- Choose Find e-journals by title. Type first few title words. Click Search.
- In results, note formats available, dates of coverage.
- Click on database link. Go to basic search screen if needed.

To Browse Through Journals by Subject:
- Go to Serials Solutions or TDNet (TexShare periodicals only).
- Choose Browse e-journals by subject. (e.g., Fine Arts and Music). Click Search.
- In results, note formats available, journal titles, dates of coverage.
- Choose database or format that best serves your need.

To Identify Key Journals in Your Field:
- Go to Serials Solutions or TDNet (TexShare periodicals only).
- Choose Find e-journals by title. Enter most relevant title keywords you can think of (e.g., veterinary, construction, public administration).
- Choose the database that indexes the journals most relevant for your needs.
- Limit search to identified journal only or do full search for more varied articles.
