| Find E-Books in NetLibrary |
 |
E-Books and NetLibrary E-Books are electronic versions of printed books. You can view e-books online on any computer connected to the Internet. NetLibrary is a specific collection of e-books that is entirely online. E-Books may be very helpful for your research as they can be accessed at any time. The text of individual books can be searched. There are additional tools that may help you in your research such as the ability to bookmark certain pages and the ability to add your own notes to certain pages.
Previewing and Checking Out E-Books You can preview an e-book in order to decide if you want to check out the book, or oftentimes you may find what you need in the preview alone. Books from NetLibrary can be checked out for 24 hours. At the end of the 24 hours the book is automatically returned. At that time you may check it out again if no one else is waiting to use it. If you know you'll need the book longer, you can renew it before the 24 hours is up. Anyone may preview a book, but only those with NetLibrary accounts can check out a book. Getting Your NetLibrary Account To check out e-books you must first create a NetLibrary account. Once created, you can use your user account to log in from any computer with Internet access. This is important. If you don't have an account, the only way you can access NetLibrary, on or off campus, is by coming in through the campus network. This means that the first time you use NetLibrary you should access it through a library computer. Once you have an account you can simply go to www.netlibrary.com on any computer, using any ISP, and enter your account information. Additional help and information about NetLibrary can be found at www.netlibrary.com/Help/.
