(Dallas) - The ideas and input of Dallas County residents are important to the development of programs and educational services offered by the Dallas County Community College District. Those taxpayers - as well as members of the business community - are invited to a presentation by DCCCD's chancellor, Dr. Jesus "Jess" Carreon, and a discussion during a "Conversation with the Community" scheduled four times in January at various locations throughout the county.
"As residents of Dallas County, we all face daily challenges related to educational needs, job training, economic development and workforce issues. The Dallas County Community College District continues to be a part of the solution to those challenges by educating the area's workforce, supporting economic development and contributing through community service," said Carreon.
He added, "We constantly examine where we are, where we need to go and how we can best serve others. As part of that process, we are updating our master plan and discussing capital improvements needed to achieve our goals and to serve our students, constituents and communities. DCCCD will hold several conversations with community members throughout the four quadrants of Dallas County - both citizens and leaders - in January to discuss our master facilities development plan and to seek their opinions and input. Everyone is invited to attend any or all of the programs scheduled."
The meetings will be held:
- Jan. 15, 2004 - 6:30 to 8 p.m., Duncanville Community Center, 206 James Collins, in Duncanville;
- Jan. 20, 2004 - 6 to 7:30 p.m.; Fretz Park Branch Library, 6990 Beltline Rd., in Dallas;

Carreon said, "We invite participants to attend whichever session is most convenient and meets each person's hectic schedule. They can listen to my presentation about our vision for the future and then ask questions and share comments with me, other DCCCD administrators and members of our board of trustees."
