Adjunct Speech Faculty
Adjunct Speech Faculty (Position No. 060910083)
Salary: $41.03 / Hour, Part-time
A part-time (Hours Vary) position is in the Communications/Teacher Education Department. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Teach Speech Communication courses, participate in adjunct orientation and professional development sessions.
  • Must be a team player and able to work cooperatively with students, colleagues, local teachers and community members.
  • Present/teach objectives described in the curriculum for a course.
  • Closely monitor student attendance and class participation and be willing to develop and support a retention plan for students.
  • Report grades at the end of the semester.
  • Must be able to efficiently maintain student records and meet deadlines associated with student performance.
  • Ability to use a variety of instructional strategies to support and motivate students.
  • Must be a self-starter, creative, innovative and be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Must be willing to utilize computer technology to support learning opportunities for the students.
  • Day and evening classes available in Spring 2010.
Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Speech Communications or Master’s degree in any other discipline plus 18 graduate hours in Speech Communications.

  • Demonstrated skills in successfully working with diverse populations through experiences such as training and past work experiences.

  • Official transcripts and resume will be required.

  • A criminal background check will be conducted.
