A part-time (Hours Vary) position is in the Communications/Teacher Education Department. Duties include but are not limited to:

Teach Speech Communication courses, participate in adjunct orientation and professional development sessions.

Must be a team player and able to work cooperatively with students, colleagues, local teachers and community members.

Present/teach objectives described in the curriculum for a course.

Closely monitor student attendance and class participation and be willing to develop and support a retention plan for students.

Report grades at the end of the semester.

Must be able to efficiently maintain student records and meet deadlines associated with student performance.

Ability to use a variety of instructional strategies to support and motivate students.

Must be a self-starter, creative, innovative and be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Must be willing to utilize computer technology to support learning opportunities for the students.

Day and evening classes available in Spring 2010.

Requirements:

Master’s degree or higher in Speech Communications or Master’s degree in any other discipline plus 18 graduate hours in Speech Communications. Demonstrated skills in successfully working with diverse populations through experiences such as training and past work experiences. Official transcripts and resume will be required. A criminal background check will be conducted.
