Clinical Coordinator-Emergency Medical Services Program
Clinical Coordinator-Emergency Medical Services Program (Position No. 020902005)
Salary: $3,231 / Month
This is a full-time position in the Health and Human Services Department. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinates and schedules dual credit, EMT-Basic and Paramedic clinical and field internships.

  • Evaluates clinical sites depending on program need.

  • Collaborates with clinical sites regarding orientation of field preceptors to EMS learning outcomes.

  • Assists EMS program director and may coordinate skills lab and scheduling.

  • Ensures program compliance with Texas Department of State Health Services and National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician certification.

  • May participate in National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician testing.

  • Ability to work with diverse populations.

  • May interface and work with CCE.

  • Must be flexible working with program demands, schedule may involve day, evening, weekend teaching or scheduling times and at offsite locations.

  • Excellent written/oral skills and ability to integrate new technology in instruction and skill lab settings.

  • Assist and work with EMS faculty.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in Emergency Medical Technology or Associate’s degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in health related field a plus), including one year of teaching EMS courses and/or clinical coordinating in a community college or university setting, and three years experience as a paramedic in a fire department, private EMS, air ambulance or hospital setting or 3 years as a Nurse in critical care, emergency or EMS experience; hospital and fire department experience preferred.

  • Must have current certification/license as a Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) Paramedic.

  • Must have current certification as a TDSHS EMS Instructor, NREMT-Paramedic and instructor certification in ACLS and CPR.

  • Requires professional demeanor, good communication, interpersonal, organizational and written skills and the ability to work with students and staff from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.

  • Advanced knowledge of computer technology to access data, generate report, maintain records and communicate with others.

  • Official transcripts plus evidence of nursing license will be required.

  • A criminal background check will be conducted.
