A full-time teaching position in the Human and Health Services (Visiting Scholar). Duties include but are not limited to:

Teach courses in Associate degree in nursing program using a variety of teaching modalities in a classroom/clinical environment and performs other duties expected of a full time faculty member as specified in the DCCCD contract.

Must be flexible working with program demands, including teaching schedules involving day, evening or weekend and non-traditional times on and off site.

Serving on appropriate departmental, college and district committees.

Participates enthusiastically in recruitment and retention activities; advises students regarding degree/certificate plans and coursework; engages in professional development activities; contributes to department’s curriculum development efforts, including Continuing Education workshops.

Requirements:

Master’s degree in Nursing or higher. Must have 3 years of work experience in the field. Must be licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Texas. CPR BLS required. Familiarity with critical thinking concepts and with computers in instruction necessary. Require professional demeanor, good communication skills, interpersonal skills, writing syllabi, exams, and ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds. Nine months salary ranging from $40,000-$46,000 based on education and experience. Extra service and summer compensation possibilities in addition to 9-month contract.
