Nursing Faculty

Salary: $40,000-$46,000 based on education and experience. / 9 Months
A full-time teaching position in the Human and Legal Studies Department. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Teach courses in Associate degree in Nursing program using a variety of teaching modalities in a classroom, laboratory and clinical environment.
- Performs other duties expected of a full-time faculty member as specified in the DCCCD contract.
- Must be flexible working with program demands, including teaching schedules involving day or evening instruction; serving on appropriate departmental, college and district committees.
- Participates enthusiastically in recruitment and retention activities; advises students regarding degree/certificate plans and coursework; engages in professional development activities; contributes to department’s curriculum developmental efforts.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Nursing.
- Three years of experience preferably in an Associate Degree Nursing program or three years recent hospital clinical experience.
- One year of demonstrated teaching experience required.
- Must be licensed with the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
- Current CPR required.
- Requires professional demeanor, good communication skills, interpersonal skills and skilled in writing syllabi, exams and ability to work with students of varying abilities form diverse backgrounds.
- Familiarity with critical thinking concepts and use of computers in instruction is a plus.
- Official transcripts will be required.
- Extra service and summer compensation possibilities in addition to 9-month contract. (Comprehensive benefits package)
