A full-time teaching position in the Human and Legal Studies Department. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Teach courses in Associate degree in Nursing program using a variety of teaching modalities in a classroom, laboratory and clinical environment.   
  
  
• Performs other duties expected of a full-time faculty member as specified in the DCCCD contract.
  
  
• Must be flexible working with program demands, including teaching schedules involving day or evening instruction; serving on appropriate departmental, college and district committees. 
  
  
• Participates enthusiastically in recruitment and retention activities; advises students regarding degree/certificate plans and coursework; engages in professional development activities; contributes to department’s curriculum developmental efforts.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Nursing. 
  
  
• Three years of experience preferably in an Associate Degree Nursing program or three years recent hospital clinical experience.
  
• One year of demonstrated teaching experience required.
  
  
• Must be licensed with the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
  
  
• Current CPR required.
  
  
• Requires professional demeanor, good communication skills, interpersonal skills and skilled in writing syllabi, exams and ability to work with students of varying abilities form diverse backgrounds.
  
  
• Familiarity with critical thinking concepts and use of computers in instruction is a plus.
